Hybrid Installation and ongoing artistic research

"Rattenlinien" is the name of the escape routes used by thousands of perpetrators of the Nazi regime who found refuge and built their careers in colonized South America.
For the artistic research we followed the traces they left in the territory and its collective memories. Therefore we map historical, mythical, and material movements to reveal their continuity with current neo-fascist structures.
During our research trip through Chile and Argentina, we worked with memories, oral history, interactions and performative interventions, video, field recordings, found objects and 3D scans. With a new materialistic approach of an affective ecology we generate creative encounters between us and the diverse agents of the territory.
Our research provokes complex questions about memory, accountability, and colonial histories. Approaching the topic through the dual perspectives of a German and an Argentine artists and researchers allows for a layered and critical engagement with both historical complicity and local silences.
